Landsea, Leyton Break Ground on UWS Condos

Landsea Homes has launched construction on its first ground-up project in Manhattan, a 14-story condominium tower at 212 W. 93rd St. that it’s developing in partnership with Leyton Properties. The developers acquired the Upper West Side site from Congregation Shaare Zedek, which will occupy the lower floors of the new building.

The groundbreaking comes on the heels of securing a $40-million senior construction loan for the project. “We look forward to creating a new home for Congregation Shaare Zedek, and introducing 20 thoughtfully-designed residences to this vibrant neighborhood,” said Thomas Graham, president of Landsea’s New York metro division.

Landsea also recently announced the acquisition of a prime development site at 540 Ave. of the Americas, located at the nexus of three Downtown submarkets: the Flatiron District, Chelsea and Greenwich Village, which it’s developing along with DNA Development. The developers plan a luxury residential building with ground floor retail.
