Lall Replaces Schatz at Powerful Central City Association
A new CEO is set to take the reins of the Central City Assn., one of DTLA’s most powerful business advocacy organizations, that’s been led by an equally influential leader. Jessica Lall is leaving her post as executive director of the South Park neighborhood BID to replace long-time CCA leader Carol Schatz.
The appointment of Lall is effective January 3. Schatz stepped down from the CCA on Sept. 30, after serving more the 25 years there, most recently as president and CEO.
Lall was called a “strong champion” for DTLA, having recently served in a number of roles advocating for business, revitalizing South Park, as well as a senior policy director in former Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s office.
Schatz provided a legacy of strong guidance that’s helped shape DTLA’s revitalization. Schatz will continue to run the Downtown Center BID.
