Lakeway City Center Developer Wants to Expand

Legend Communities is the brains behind the Lakeway City Center project at Lohmans Crossing Road. And, if the developer has its way, it could expand the mixed-use development from its current 56-acre footprint in the far northwest Austin metro, thanks to acquisition of adjacent land parcels. The land is currently owned by the Lake Travis Church of Christ and the Lake Travis Independent School District.

The Austin-based developer recently presented an expanded planned unit development (PUD) to the Lakeway Zoning and Planning Commission, though no decision was made at the time.

The proposed Lakeway City Center would consist of arts and entertainment venues, small offices, a retail village and a 2.5-acre village green. Legend Communities would create a walkable community, with groupings of single-family houses and townhomes. The project cost could be north of $500 million, and take seven to 10 years to complete.
