Lakeview’s the Priciest Hotel Option in Town
The North Side’s Lakeview neighborhood is the priciest in the city for hotel accommodations, according to a survey of 20 neighborhoods and suburbs conducted by Chicagohotels.org. Prices for double rooms in Lakeview start at an average of $217 per night. The Chicagohotels.org survey only considered three-star hotels and above.
Chicago’s second priciest neighborhood for travelers is also on the North Side: Lincoln Park, where double rooms start at $184 per night. Ranked third is the South Side’s Hyde Park neighborhood, home to the University of Chicago.
To stay in the sixth-ranked Loop district, guests will spend an average of $161 per night, according to the survey. For a few dollars more, they could stay around the Magnificent Mile, in Near South Side.
Conversely, the northwestern suburb of Schaumburg, IL is the most affordable neighborhood among those surveyed. Here, travelers will spend only $89 on average for the lowest-priced double room.
