Lab Facility Going North in Submarket with No Lab Vacancy

The Davis Cos. broke ground on its 223,000-square-foot Alewife Research Center (ARC), a 223,000-square-foot laboratory facility in West Cambridge, MA. The facility will deliver in 2018 into a submarket that has zero vacant lab space, and a high demand for biotech and lab space from life-sciences tenants.

The ARC will be at 35 Cambridgepark Dr., near the former Pfizer campus, and the MBTA Red Line Alewife station. Spagnolo Gisness & Associates is the architect, and John Moriarty & Associates the general contractor.

“The ARC is architecturally significant, as it will be one of the first buildings visible when entering West Cambridge, and is located on one of the last parcels of underdeveloped land available in Cambridge,” said SGA Founding Partner Jeff Tompkins.
