Kubota Buys 200 Acres in Kansas City, Plans 2M-SF Logistics Facility

The Connect Industrial conference will take place July 11. For more information, or to register, log on here.

Kubota Tractor Corporation acquired 200-acres within Phase II of NorthPoint Development’s Logistics Park Kansas City in Edgerton, KS, a suburb of Kansas City. The machinery and equipment manufacturer plans to construct two, one million square-foot, state-of-the-art logistics facilities for its new North American Distribution Center.

It is the first major tenant for the 1,700-acre inland distribution hub. Once complete, the new facility will allow Kubota to continue to receive and process shipments from Asia and Europe, in addition to goods from suppliers in North America. That expanded capacity and accelerated shipping speed is expected to facilitate the timely delivery of Kubota parts and equipment.

The company began leasing space in the area in 2015, including a 765,000-square-foot facility that will remain in operation in Logistics Park Kansas City until the new facilities are complete. It also operates a 1,500-employee Great Plains facility in Salina, KS.
