Krispy Kreme Flagship Opening Set for Sept. 15
Krispy Kreme’s much-anticipated, and delayed, Times Square Flagship Shop will open Tuesday, Sept. 15, the company said this week. The 4,500-square-foot flagship at 1601 Broadway, which will include the Winston-Salem, NC-based chain’s largest Glazed Waterfall, had been scheduled to open in May but the opening was pushed back due to the pandemic.
“We said earlier this year that when New York City and Times Square are ready, we’ll be ready,” said Michael Tattersfield, CEO of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation. “We can’t wait to bring a new bright Hot Light to Broadway beginning Sept. 15.”
Although designed to serve more customers annually than any other Krispy Kreme location, the Times Square store will implement a safety plan including remote queueing.
The Times Square shop is part of Krispy Kreme’s 2020 expansion in New York City, which by the year-end will total eight shops from uptown to downtown.
