Kraft Execs Unveil Plans for Everett Soccer Stadium

Executives from The Kraft Group have unveiled plans for a new soccer stadium for the New England Revolution in Everett, MA., Boston Business Journal reported. The proposed stadium, to be built on the Mystic River, aims to become an “economic driver” for the region, according to Revolution President Brian Bilello.

The project hinges on the removal of the site’s designated port area status under state law, a move that faces opposition from Boston city officials and environmental groups like the Conservation Law Foundation. While supporters tout the potential economic benefits and improved public transportation access, critics raise concerns about traffic congestion and environmental impacts.

Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria emphasized the need for investment in the unused land, while Boston officials called for greater involvement in the decision-making process. As discussions continue, the fate of the stadium project remains uncertain, pending further legislative action and environmental reviews.
