KKR Signs First Downtown Boston Office Lease at International Place

The Chiofaro Company and PGIM Real Estate said Thursday that KKR has signed a 15-year lease for 132,529 square feet at Two International Place. KKR will relocate to the new office space, its first in Downtown Boston, to accommodate its growth locally, expand its U.S. footprint and bolster its capabilities across key strategic areas to support its global operations. Currently, more than 300 KKR employees are based in the Boston area, primarily serving the firm’s insurance business.

The lease signing comes as Chiofaro and PGIM near completion of a $100-million capital improvement program at the 1.8-million-square-foot office property, which Chiofaro developed. “KKR’s decision to plant a substantial flag at International Place is a major milestone for both the building and Boston’s business community,” said Don Chiofaro Jr., VP of The Chiofaro Company.

He added that the lease signing “further validates our vision for International Place as the preeminent address for global business leaders.” JLL, Newmark and Cushman & Wakefield brokered the deal.
