A new proposed downtown vision plan has been unveiled for the City of Kingsville in South Texas. The Downtown Vision Plan has been in the works for close to a year, according to Kingsville City Manager Jesus Garza. The plan has involved input from the community and from the University of Texas-San Antonio’s College of Architecture, Construction and Planning.
The purpose of the plan is to improve existing infrastructure, while helping to boost economic development for the city. Kingsville has an historic downtown area, with the plan proposing establishment of a museum cluster to help improve tourism. Other aspects of the plan include redesigning infrastructure, widening sidewalks and restoring many of the historic buildings.
The plan will be formally considered by the city commission at an upcoming meeting.
