New Kings Arena To Change Downtown Sacramento!
When the 17,500-seat Golden 1 Center opens next year, it will be more than a new home for the NBA’s Sacramento Kings. Development around the facility will feature a variety of enhancements that city officials say will make Downtown Sacramento much more vibrant.
The arena and four surrounding blocks will include retail, housing and office space. Currently under construction is Downtown Plaza Tower, which is a $250-million mixed-use project being developed by Kings owner Vivek Ranadive and JMA Ventures. The 16-story tower is set to include a Kimpton hotel, as well as retail and residences.
