Kin Insurance Subleases 20K SF at the Merchandise Mart

Kin Insurance, a Chicago-based home insurance company, has subleased more than 20,000 square feet on the ninth floor at the Merchandise Mart from online consumer lender Avant, reported Crain’s.

The insurance firm will move to the new office later in 2024 from its current office, a roughly 11,000-square-foot space on the building’s second floor, which it has subleased for the past several years. CBRE’s Brad Serot and Tyler Reaumond represented Avant in negotiating the sublease to Kin, while CBRE’s Tony Coglianese negotiated the lease on behalf of Kin.

Earlier this year, online food ordering company Grubhub announced it would move its headquarters to the Merchandise Mart and follow the ongoing trend of downsizing its office footprint in the process.
