Killeen to get $70M tech plant

Killeen Site for $70 M Tech Plant

Dongjin Semichem Texas Inc., a global manufacturer of fine chemicals, plans to construct a 91,000 square-foot plant in the Killeen Business Park.

As an industry leader in the electronic materials market, the company’s major product lines include display materials, semiconductor materials and renewable energy materials.

The Killeen facility is the company’s first manufacturing plant in the U.S. market. The company will provide patented processing chemicals for the $18 billion Samsung manufacturing facility in Taylor. The Killeen Business Park was among several sites competing for the company’s $70 million investment but chose Killeen for its available land, competitive incentive package, skilled workforce and proximity to Interstate 14 and 35. It will be on a 42-acre site in the park.

Killeen Mayor Debbie Nash-King remarked. “They are committed to Killeen and their presence strengthens our community’s ability to aid Central Texas’ rapidly growing semiconductor industry.”

Dongjin expects to begin construction immediately with production beginning in 2024.
