Kiewit Engineering Inks 171K SF for New HQ at Energy Center I

Kiewit Engineering Group Inc. signed a 171,266-square-foot lease at Energy Center I in Houston’s Energy Corridor submarket, with plans to relocate its headquarters to the new space at 585 N. Dairy Ashford. The company currently operates out of 11750 Katy Fwy., also on Houston’s far west side.

Louie Crapitto of JLL and David Kimball of Savills provided tenant representation services. Transwestern’s Eric Anderson, Tyler Garrett, and Katy Gragg represented the landlord, Spear Street Capital.

Energy Center I is a 334,367-square-foot, 13-story building that delivered in 2007. Amec Foster Wheeler placed the space on the sublease market in late 2016. Spear Street Capital purchased the building in 2017, and invested $3.5 million in capital improvements. The upgrades include a fitness center, coffee bar with lounge seating, on-site café and tenant conference center. The building is now 52% leased.
