KidsQuest Children’s Museum to Buy Bellevue Arts Museum Building

The Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) announced that KidsQuest Children’s Museum has entered an agreement to purchase the former BAM building located at 1116 108th Ave. NE for $5 million.

The sale of the building, which was designed by Steven Holl, will allow BAM to pay creditors and create a new board for the nonprofit. BAM will also begin to look for a new location to store its art library. KidsQuest’s move into the new space is expected to expand its STEAM learning opportunities and programming, and will serve around 350,000 people annually. Both parties intend to close on the sale in early 2026, with the rebranded space expected to open in 2029.

“The city is excited to see that the proposed purchase by KidsQuest keeps the Bellevue Arts Museum property on a path to continue as a facility benefitting the public in the heart of downtown,” said Bellevue City Manager Diane Carlson.
