The Chateau at the Village, a multi-use, site totaling 11.5 acres in South Lake Tahoe is being put up for sale and marketed by West Coast commercial real estate services firm Kidder Matthews. It includes both a current shopping center and development rights for 477 residential or hospitality units.

New-development sites in the Lake Tahoe area are very hard to come by, says David Wientjes of Kidder.

This particular site is across the street from Heavenly Mountain Resort, which includes retail and restaurant facilities. There is also a gondola on the adjacent property.
