Key International Starts Work on 39-Acre St. Pete Marina/Apartment Project
Key International is turning a long-distressed property into a going concern. The project, Waterways Apartments and Marina, will include 470 apartments, 150 boat slips, an 8,000-square-foot waterfront restaurant and several other amenities across 39 acres at 12000 Gandy Blvd. N.
The Tampa Business Journal reports site work began in late 2024, and vertical construction is scheduled to begin in May.
Miami-based MSA Architects designed the project, and Brandon-based Central Site Development is performing the infrastructure work. Miami-based Strategic Group will lead vertical construction.
In addition to the typical amenities found at a new multifamily project, Key International is also looking to provide two pickleball courts, one tennis court, a volleyball court, a basketball court and a playground.
Waterways was initially conceived as Snug Harbor, but its financing fell victim to the Great Recession. The land was foreclosed on in 2011, and Key International paid $19 million for it in 2022.
