Kemper Moves from Namesake Tower to Aon Center
Kemper Corporation will no longer maintain its headquarters at the Kemper Building. The insurer is relocating from 1 E. Wacker Dr. to Aon Center in the first significant leasing deal there since the property’s current ownership began a $25-million renovation.
The lease for nearly 65,000 square feet encompasses the 32nd and 33nd floors of Aon Center, Chicago’s third-tallest tower at 83 stories. The Telos Group’s Matt Pistorio, Caroline Colnon and Steve Smith represented 601W Companies, which acquired Aon Center in 2015. Cushman & Wakefield’s Scott Goldman, Chris Wood and Adam McCostlin negotiated for Kemper.
Renovations at the 46-year-old tower, its first in more than two decades, began last year. “We are committed to creating a unique and vibrant community within Aon Center, with interiors designed to inspire employees and create a better corporate culture,” said Colnon, leasing director at The Telos Group.
