KDC Launches Build-to-Suit for Sammons HQ Relocation

KDC has commenced construction on Sammons Financial Group’s new corporate headquarters in West Des Moines, IA. The 215,000-square-foot build-to-suit facility is scheduled for completion in Fall 2020.

Designed to accommodate Sammons’ growth over the next 20 years, the BTS at 81st Street and Mills Civic Parkway will provide space for approximately 200 new jobs, in addition to the existing workforce of more than 500 in West Des Moines. The space is designed to provide safety, space and functionality for future departments.

“To compete in today’s market, companies want to provide employees the space and amenities they need to thrive at their job,” said KDC president Toby Grove. “The new headquarters will provide this and much more.”

The Weitz Company is the general contractor.  SVPA Architects and HKS are the project architects. Founded in Chicago in 1996, Sammons announced last fall that it would move operations to West Des Moines.
