KC’s Bar K Plans to Open 100 New Locations, Move HQ to AZ

Bar K, a Kansas City-based company that focuses on creating indoor and outdoor entertainment and amenity-filled recreation spaces for dogs and their owners, is embarking on an expansion.

Arizona-based Diversified Partners, a commercial real estate brokerage and development company, has been working on an acquisition deal with Bar K for two years, and it’s now in escrow.

Diversified Partners plans to open 100 new Bar K locations across the U.S. and Canada by 2027 and is targeting markets such as Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Nashville, and San Diego. The new sites are expected to create more than 500 jobs in 2024 and 2025.

Bar K will also relocate its corporate headquarters from Kansas City to Arizona as part of the deal, per the Kansas City Business Journal.
