KB Hotels Nabs Waco Acreage, Planning Another Hotel

KB Hotels, which developed the Hotel Indigo in Waco, TX, acquired 9.6 acres in east Waco, near downtown. The site, near Lake Brazos and Interstate 35, could hold two new hotels. Brad Harrell with KW Commercial: Harrell & Associates represented seller, Union Pacific, in the land sale.

Megan Henderson with City Center Waco told the Waco Tribune that one hotel would have a “concept similar to Indigo,” while the other would cater “to those with an interest in health and fitness.” She said she was not at liberty to name the brands involved in the project.

KB Hotels had previously announced its interest in developing and opening a 170-room Cambria Hotel near Baylor University. However, a spokeswoman with the local Indigo wouldn’t comment on whether the land sale is part of the plan.
