Sunterra in Katy starts work on lagoon amenities

Katy Lagoon Community Starts Work on $12M Amenity Project

Starwood Land has begun construction on a new community benefit in the 2,300-acre Katy master-planned community of Sunterra. Known as “The Retreat,” the new $12 million amenity village will include a resort-style pool, lazy river, splash pad, tennis courts and clubhouse with a fitness center, meeting rooms and event spaces.

“The Retreat will provide a fun, safe environment for friends and family to relax and enjoy time together,” said Starwood’s John Brian. “It has been designed for both active and passive recreation — there is something for everyone.”

Designed by KGA DeForest Design, The Retreat will be the first of two amenity villages in Sunterra when it opens in late 2024. The second amenity, the Sol Club, will feature a Crystal Lagoon. The $21 million project is expected to open in 2025.
