Katy Grand Expansion Plan Unveiled by NewQuest

NewQuest Properties is planning a spring 2018 groundbreaking on Phase II of Katy Grand, a mixed-use project at Interstate 10 and Grand Parkway in west Houston. The expansion will focus on two buildings, totaling 36,000 square feet of retail space, that will host new-to-the-market restaurants and specialty retailers. Construction is set for a fall 2018 completion.

The expansion is taking place on 7.4 acres, and follows completion of the 21.7-acre first phase, which contains a 19-screen Cinemark theater.

Tenants in Phase II are:

• Japanese-based Kinokuniya, a gift boutique and book store, reserved 4,000 square feet
• 85C° Bakery Café, Taiwan’s top coffeehouse, is taking down 2,800 square feet
• Kula Revolving Sushi Bar leased 3,500 sf for its second restaurant in the region

“We are creating a crossroads of culture for international dining and shopping experiences,” said NewQuest’s Heather Nguyen. She and NewQuest colleague Rebecca Le are pre-leasing the project.
