Kaiser Permanente Building Regional Lab in IE
Kaiser Permanente is building a new regional medical office building, at a former retail center, in Chino Hills, CA to handle regular tests for Inland Empire members. Kaiser Permanente will redevelop the site into a state-of-the-art Inland Empire Satellite Regional Reference Laboratories.
The 150,000-square-foot facility was previously home to Great Indoors furniture center that closed in 2008. The lab is slated to open in 2017 and is projected to add as many as 300 new employees, as well as robotic equipment.
The lab will incorporate advanced robotic automation that will function similarly to how Amazon uses automation to process goods at its facility in San Bernardino. However, Kaiser’s complete transportation system will deliver lab material and specimens to various departments in the building.
