Affordable Housing project delivers in Atlanta's Sweet Auburn neighborhood

JV Teams-Up on Sweet Auburn Affordable Housing Project

An affordable housing project has started accepting tenants in the Atlanta neighborhood of Sweet Auburn. Capstone Building Corp. has finished work on the first phase of McAuley Station, a project slated to provide housing and health care services to Atlanta’s uninsured and impoverished residents. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports Pennrose developed the $35.4 million venture, along with health care non-profit Mercy Care.

Located at 375 Gartrell St. SE in Sweet Auburn, McAuley Station will complement the 2022 renovation and expansion of the adjacent Mercy Care clinic facing Decatur Street.

McAuley Station features 170 affordable workforce apartment units with studio, one—, and two-bedroom floor plans. The development also features various public amenities for residents, including a clubhouse, a wellness and fitness center, and a rooftop amenity area.

All units are priced for residents within 30% to 80% of the area median income.  Pricing for units with bedrooms will start at $1,106 a month.

The second phase of McAuley Station is slated to feature approximately 100 affordable and market-rate residences reserved entirely for seniors 55 and older.
