Duo Greenlighted for 600-Unit McKinney Rental Community

Hijo Ltd and Sutton Field Investments are partnering on a proposed townhouse and multifamily project in McKinney. The City Council recently approved an annexation of 74 acres, which would include the land for the development and seven acres of parkland. In addition to the annexation question, council members approved a rezoning request that would allow for the development of up to 140 townhomes and 600 multifamily units.

The annexed site is located on FM 1461, just east of FM 2478 and adjacent to the site of Aster Park, a master-planned community. The land is also located at the future intersection of FM 1461 and Stonebridge Drive.

Community Impact reports the city will provide water and wastewater services, as well as fire and police protection, to the annexed area. The pre-annexation agreement also states that the development team will lead the construction of the portion of Stonebridge Drive that runs through the property.
