Joint Venture Seeking OK for 600-Acre Denton Co. Development
Fewer projects are getting built during this balky economy, but that doesn’t mean developers aren’t planning for the future. There are a number of large developer-initiated zoning cases cued up in Texas towns of all sizes, hoping that they’ll have buildable land once the economy improves.
Alliance West and Denton Land and Cattle are jointly asking the Fort Worth City Council for a change to a development agreement for a project consisting of over 600 acres in Denton County. The Dallas Business Journal reports the development agreement details the construction of a business park, including distribution warehouses and other industrial uses, with the option for commercial and multifamily development on Highway 114. The property, located south of State Highway 114 and west of FM 156 is just north of Perot Field.
The project is just out of Fort Worth’s boundaries, but is hoping to get a promise from the town that they’ll accept the terms of the development agreement once the land gets annexed.
