JLL Assembles Site for Massive E-Commerce Center in Markham
JLL revealed its involvement in the largest Chicago-area industrial deal represented by a brokerage firm. The tenant, a major e-commerce retailer, said earlier this summer that it would build a 3.9-million-square-foot fulfillment center on 140 acres of land in Markham, IL.
A JLL team led by VP Conor Mullady and SVP Scott Duerkop spent more than three years assembling the industrial development site and consequently represented the developer, Scannell Properties, in the deal.
“This site in the Southland market has been overlooked for so long,” said Mullady. “But, after years of negotiation and the establishment of strategic partnerships, we were able to take a site that had over 150 property index numbers and create one monumental industrial site—ideal for a large tenant like this one. We expect the new facility will put a target on the Southland as being open for development.”
