JLL Arranges 4 Leases for One Newark’s New Owners

JLL has arranged four new leases on behalf of Beijing Ideal Group, owner of One Newark Center in downtown Newark since last November. Wintrust Life Finance will relocate from Jersey City to the top floor in a 22,026-square-foot lease, and was represented by Cushman & Wakefield’s Daniel Johnson and Scott Schubert.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development inked a short-term lease extension on its 40,155-square-foot space. H&N Group, represented by NKF’s Jamie Drummond and Andrew Perrotti, signed a long-term lease for 3,415 square feet. Partner Energy, represented by Savills Studley’s Christopher Marx and Peter McMullen, took 2,016 square feet.

In all four deals, JLL’s Chris Conklin and Craig Eisenhardt represented Beijing Ideal. The pair worked closely with CBRE’s Amanda Zega and Eugene Nazarov of Blaimore Development Group. Conklin noted that Beijing Ideal’s purchased One Newark “at a time when Newark was seeing a significant increase in tenant activity.”
