JCPenney Returns to San Bernardino
It’s been more than 12 years since JCPenney departed San Bernardino. But, the department store plans to return later this fall, when it opens a 138,000-square-foot, two-level location at Inland Center.
The retailer is taking over space formerly occupied by Gottschalks, which closed in 2009. JCPenney joins other anchors at the mall, including Sears, Forever 21 and Macy’s.
Inland Center is a 933,000-square-foot, single-level, enclosed regional mall, owned by Santa Monica-based Macerich. JCPenney closed its previous San Bernardino location at Carousel Mall in 2003.
