JC Penney Returns to Plano HQ
As part of their bankruptcy proceeding, JC Penney’s left its Plano headquarters within Legacy West in 2020. And in a few months they will be back in their iconic office. Two large mall owners, Brookfield and Simon, have since bought the former retail giant and have kept the name, and business going.
The company has signed a 318,067 square-foot lease to return to what is now called CalWest. The new lease accounts for about 20% of the building’s office space, much less than they took up before they left in 2020.
The building is part of an 86-acre campus that offers a fitness club, conference center, daycare facility and dining options.
Michael Brigance and Teddy Childers represented the landlord, Capital Commercial Investments. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
