JBG SMITH to Build New Entertainment District in National Landing

JBG SMITH revealed plans for an entertainment district in National Landing, partnering with Monumental Sports & Entertainment, Virginia, and Alexandria. Spanning 9 million square feet, the district will house a new Wizards and Capitals arena, MSE’s HQ, media studio, and esports facility.

“The arrival of this powerful entertainment and technology anchor to National Landing is a dramatic game changer that will enhance resident, employer, and visitor quality of life in the neighborhood for decades to come,” said Matt Kelly, chief executive officer of JBG SMITH.

The arena will occupy a 12-acre site, near tech and education hubs and dining spots like Water Park and Surreal. JBG SMITH looks to revamp National Landing post-Amazon’s HQ2 selection.
