Japan’s Nissei to Develop San Antonio Facility

Nissei Plastic Industrial Co. Ltd., a Japanese maker of machinery, will invest $13 million to set up a U.S. manufacturing operation at Brooks City-Base in San Antonio. Construction on the facility is anticipated to begin in January, with an estimated completion date of November, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Nissei acquired nine acres from Brooks Development Authority, in an area zoned for light industrial. The manufacturer will build a facility totaling 115,000 square feet, which will include 47,000 square feet of warehouse space, and 13,700 square feet of office space. The manufacturing plant will be used to build injection molding machines.
