Japanese Retailer Leases 220K-SF, Former American Apparel Facility
Connect Industrial is happening in Chicago tomorrow. There’s still time to register.
Daiso California signed a 220,000-square-foot lease at Prologis Inc.’s 16400 Trojan Way in La Mirada, CA. The space was formerly occupied by American Apparel, which filed for bankruptcy last year.
The American Apparel lease term was reduced, and the material-handling equipment in the clothing retailer’s former distribution center is being removed. The mid-counties facility was built in 1986, and also includes 19,000 square feet of office area.
Daiso California, a division of Japanese home goods retailer Daiso Industries Co. Ltd., operates 36 locations in SoCal. The retailer sells low-priced household goods, such as spatulas, wrapping paper, and gardening shears.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Mike Foley, Chuck Berger, Ryan Bos, and Dave Hess represented the tenant. Colliers Internationals’ Chris Sheehan, Nicolas Vranka and Connor Reeves represented the landlord.
