Japanese Company Settles into $417M Houston-Area Plant
Daikin Industries Ltd., a Japan-based air conditioner manufacturing company, started moving staff into its new $417-million Daikin Texas Technology Park facility in the Houston suburb of Hockley, near Waller.
The property, which features more than four million square feet of manufacturing and distribution space, now houses roughly 1,000 employees. Through 2018, as some of Daikin’s other plants consolidate and the company’s overall workforce grows, the employee count should surge to more than 4,000.
The plant broke ground in 2015, with Prologis, D.E. Harvey Builders, and Powers Brown Architecture leading project efforts.
