Jamison Properties Opens Doors to Maya in Koreatown

Jamison Properties completed its first ground-up construction project with Maya, a 72-unit market rate apartment building located at 535 South Kingsley Dr. in Los Angeles’s Koreatown neighborhood. The Los Angeles-based firm built Maya following the successful conversion of two former Koreatown commercial office buildings into multifamily communities.

Maya opened with a large percentage of the units preleased, with full occupancy expected by the end of the year, according to Jamison Properties’ Garrett Lee. The seven-story property features a mix of one and two-bedroom units, ranging in size from 580 to 1,265 square feet.

“Koreatown is one of the most densely populated neighborhoods in Los Angeles, and the inventory of multifamily product in Koreatown has not kept up with the demand,” said Lee. “We see that continuing for the foreseeable future, especially as vibrant urban environments such as Koreatown and Downtown Los Angeles become the place of choice for young professionals.”
