Jamestown Acquires The Shops Buckhead Atlanta
Atlanta-based real estate investment and management company Jamestown acquired The Shops Buckhead Atlanta, a 356,000-square-foot retail and office portfolio in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood. The sales price was not disclosed.
The property, which was built in 2014, also includes two development parcels totaling 2.7 acres. Notable tenants include the headquarters of Spanx, luxury brand Hermès and Shake Shack. Jamestown is now the third real estate company to own the property, after purchasing it from an institutional joint venture that included Brookfield Residential Properties. A team from JLL represented the seller in the transaction.
With more than 50 luxury retailers, the development was designed to be a hub for high-end shopping in Buckhead. But, foot traffic has been less than predicted since opening. Jamestown has a track record of success in Atlanta, with notable projects such as Westside Provisions District and Ponce City Market. Jamestown also developed Chelsea Market in New York City, which it sold to Google last year for $2.4 billion.
