Vedra Beach club on auction block

Jacksonville-Area Beach Club on Auction Block

Serenata Beach Club has been struggling to make payments to lenders lately, and a judge is forcing the property into a foreclosure sale. The auction is slated for September 12th. The Jacksonville Business Journal reports that the owners, Jeffery and Molly Butler, owed two lenders $14.2 million at the time of the judgment. The club has endured a number of shutdowns of late, with employees and vendors either not getting paid on time, or at all.

The Serenata Beach Club is located at 3175 S. Ponte Vedra Blvd. in South Vedra Beach. The club offers private beach access, a spa, pool and dining and beverage options. Various publications mentioned that the club’s membership fee is $4,500 – $6,000, dues are $2,153 a year, and a food minimum is $250 a month.
