IT Tenant Embraces Work-from-Home Model in Move to Concourse Chicago
A new lease at Berger Asset Management’s Concourse Chicago demonstrates how businesses may alter their space considerations and leasing strategies in the COVID-19 environment. IT firm the Clarity Group, which serves the healthcare industry, has leased 1,200 square feet at the single-story complex, with private entrances to its space, after previously occupying 9,000 square feet at a multi-story office property nearby.
Before the pandemic, Clarity Group employees were based mainly in the company’s offices. In adapting a work-from-home model, the tenant improved efficiencies while considerably reducing its occupancy costs.
“This type of mindset will be adopted by companies looking for an office space and setting that offers them complete control over their space going forward,” said Steve Chrastka of NAI Hiffman, who leases the property with Jason Wurtz. “Having no restrictions on access and not sharing hallways, bathrooms or HVAC is even more important now.”
