Irvine Company Plans New Life Science Complex Near UC

Academy Point, a new 532,000-square-foot life science campus adjacent to the UC Irvine campus, is in the works according to the Orange County Business Journal. Newport Beach, CA-based Irvine Company plans to build the facility at its UCI Research Park with construction possibly beginning by the end of the year.

Plans call for four 128,000-square-foot buildings with lab-ready offices geared toward medical, healthcare and biotech tenants. If completed as planned, it would be the largest life science campus in Orange County.

According to an Irvine Company brochure, Academy Point would be a “fully amenitized life science campus designed for discovery and innovation, powered by UC Irvine’s thriving ecosystem.” The campus would contain 32,000 square feet of floor plates, be sustainably designed and LEED certified and include dining, fitness, conference and hiking amenities.
