More than one-third of all U.S renters have chosen single-family rentals

Invitation Homes Teams with Rockpoint for SFR Acquisitions

Invitation Homes Inc. and Rockpoint Group have formed a $375-million joint venture to acquire single-family homes and operate them as rental residences. Dallas-based Invitation Homes will contribute $75 million along with investment, asset management and property management services to the JV, with Boston-based Rockpoint putting up $300 million.

“We believe both the fundamentals in our sector and the need for high-quality rental housing in the US are as strong as they have been in our company’s history, and we are thrilled to be expanding the channels through which we can invest for the benefit of our local communities and our shareholders,” said Invitation Homes CEO Dallas Tanner.

A total of $1 billion-plus, including debt, is expected to be deployed by the JV to acquire and renovate single-family homes in the Western US, Southeast, Florida, and Texas, where Invitation Homes already owns homes.
