1,005 Acres Acquired, Investor Plans for Growth

An unidentified investor anticipating continued northward growth from Dallas-Fort Worth acquired a combined 1,005 acres. The buyer, a land-owning family, acquired a 634-acre farm in Howe, TX, and a 371-acre parcel in Sherman, TX. Both plots of land are approximately 60 miles north of Dallas.

John St. Clair with Younger Partners brokered the transaction, noting that the investor wanted to be in the path of growth, and that the land is currently being used for agriculture production. “People are investing north, which is historically prudent, as the growth has been consistently moving in that direction,” he said.

The new land owner has no plans, at this point, for the land, other than to hold it. “They have land around the state, and were looking to invest in areas they believe would have appreciation over time,” St. Clair said.
