Insights from Connect CRE LA 2026: Where the Market is Headed (VIDEO)

“The status of the market is hot,” said Gary Bechtel, CEO of Red Oak Capital Holdings. “There is plenty of capital. I’d call it a borrower’s market, in that there is capital for every opportunity out there. From a lender’s standpoint, it’s very competitive.”

At Connect CRE Los Angeles 2026, Bechtel was one of the real estate industry leaders who commented on camera for Connect CRE in response to the question of what the market outlook for the remainder of 2026 is expected to be. Part One of this conversation can be accessed here.

In Part Two, Bechtel was joined by Brian Coleman, project financing manager, California Governor’s Office of Business & Economic Development, in responding to the industry outlook question. We also asked industry leaders where they see strengths and weaknesses in the Southern California economy and commercial real estate. In the video below, you’ll hear insights on that question from Sonia Nayak, partner at Nixon Peabody.
