Initial Phase of Arrowhead Grove Completed
The first phase of Rancho Cucamonga, CA-based National Community Renaissance’s $200-million development called Arrowhead Grove was completed with the opening of 76 new workforce housing units. The milestone is a significant step toward revitalizing the troubled Waterman Gardens housing project in San Bernardino, CA, and is expected to contribute to community improvement.
The community questioned whether a major overhaul of a public housing project, originally constructed in 1943, could rescue a site that had fallen into serious disrepair and had become a hot spot for crime.
The developer broke ground in June on the 411-unit affordable housing project. Over the next six years, the redevelopment of additional units will be phased in. The new complex features a community garden, play structures, as well as an amphitheater.
