Industry Veteran Shapiro Joins NKF’s Financial Reporting Practice

A 27-year industry veteran, Marc Shapiro (pictured), has joined NKF’s valuation & advisory business as EVP of the financial reporting practice. Reporting to John Corbett, Shapiro is based in Whippany, NJ and serves as a regional lead.

Shapiro has advised public and private clients in applying FASB ASC 805 Business Combinations, identifying and measuring tangible and intangible components of real property, and assessing the fair value of acquired real estate under FASB ASC 820 Fair Value Measurements and goodwill impairment testing.

“Marc’s rich expertise in financial reporting valuations and consulting will be a tremendous asset, as he leads his regional team and works with me to grow the national practice,” said Corbett.

Previously, Shapiro spent more than 10 years at FTI Consulting as a real estate valuation practice lead. Prior to FTI, Shapiro was a director in the valuation & advisory group at Cushman & Wakefield for five years.
