IL Firm BLDD Acquires Large St. Louis Architecture Company
BLDD Architects, an Illinois-based architecture focused on higher education, senior living, and K-12 projects, has acquired Dickinson Hussman Architects (DHA) of St. Louis. Both firms specialize in helping school districts address their need for facility improvements.
For BLDD, this acquisition is part of the firm’s efforts to become even more active in St. Louis and the state of Missouri. BLDD has offices throughout Illinois as well as one in St. Louis, and the company uses a proprietary master plan modeling and analysis software called QLEO, Quantified Learning Environment Outcomes, to help districts design and complete long-range master plans for facility improvements.
DHA was founded 30 years ago by Dwight Dickinson and Don Hussman, and the firm has been a leading K-12 architectural firm in the St. Louis area. BLDD is 94 years old and has worked extensively across the Midwest including districts such as Springfield, Iowa City, Decatur, Edwardsville and Fort Worth.
