IDA Breaks Ground on 370K-SF HQ Building in Alexandria

The Institute for Defense Analyses, a nonprofit corporation running three federally-funded research and development centers, has officially broken ground on its 370,000-square-foot build-to-suit headquarters building in Alexandria, VA.

Located at 730 East Glebe Rd., the two-acre site is nearby Northern Virginia’s high-tech corridor and Amazon’s future HQ2. David Lipson, Arthur Greenberg and Bie Chu Lee of Savills represented IDA in securing the development site.

“IDA’s development at the Potomac Yard Metro allows the company to stay in Alexandria and in close proximity to its major customers located at the Pentagon,” said Greenberg, vice chairman at Savills. “Since IDA acquired the site three years ago, the area has flourished with Amazon’s announcement of locating its HQ2 nearby, and Virginia Tech selecting a site one-quarter mile north for its Northern Virginia campus.”
