ICSC 2017: Transwestern, VEREIT, Woodmont on Retail Investment Trends

Connect Media joined the more than 37,000 attendees at this year’s ICSC RECon conference in Las Vegas. In our latest in a three-part video series, we captured insights from five retail leaders who shared their thoughts on 2017’s investment trends.

Check out what Transwestern’s Larry Thiel and Brad Cohen, VEREIT’s Tom Roberts and The Woodmont Company’s Fred Meno and Grant Gary have to say in the video, in response to:

  • Where do you think we are in the retail investment cycle?
  • What’s the largest hurdle in getting a retail investment deal done today?
  • Is domestic or international capital more prominent?

Among the themes and buzzwords that popped up included a correction phase, disruption in B and C space, lag in market, institutional product commanding highest prices, 7th inning, strong fundamentals, interest rates a big factor, tenant viability, and fear guiding capital.

Connect Media was happy to work with ICSC at RECon 2017, and our video series showcases retail leaders, ICSC sponsors and experts sharing insights about key retail trends. Check our first ICSC 2017 video on retail research here, and our second in the series on retail leasing trends here.
