Iconic 20-Story Tower Proposed in Downtown San Jose
J.P. DiNapoli Cos. plans to develop a 20-story office tower in Downtown San Jose, near the proposed Google Village and Adobe headquarters. The site at Park Avenue and South Almaden Boulevard is envisioned for a 750,000-square-foot building that could house up to 3,700 workers.
The 270-foot tower on one of the city’s prime corners could serve as an important landmark, and would help revitalize a key San Jose street. It is also near the Diridon train station, and the proposed Google Village transit-oriented community of offices, residences, retail and open spaces.
The 200 Park Ave. parcel was acquired last month for $11.5 million by an affiliate of DiNapoli. A neighboring parking garage site is being folded into the land assemblage for the tower in an agreement with the owners of the Hyatt Place San Jose Downtown hotel.
CBRE’s Mark Schmidt is handling the office leasing assignment. DiNapoli anticipates breaking ground on the project next summer.
