ICON MXU Proposed at Former Sunkist Growers HQ Site

IMT Residential proposed ICON, a mixed-use redevelopment project at the historic 8.3-acre former HQ of Sunkist Growers in Sherman Oaks, CA. The Los Angeles-based apartment owner and affiliate IMT Capital, LLC seek to create a low-rise pedestrian-centric urban village campus.

Johnson and Fain’s architectural plan includes restoring the landmark 126,674-square-foot building as a creative office environment. The existing modernist three-story structure will be surrounded by 4.4-acres of open space that includes rooftop gardens, and landscaped outdoor gathering spaces.

The plan also includes adding three new mixed-use residential buildings totaling 298 residential units, as well as 39,240 square feet of neighborhood-serving commercial, such as a major grocery anchor and restaurants. A new parking structure will be clad in timber lath, reminiscent of barns and farm buildings to reflect the area’s agricultural past.

Dennis has developed and managed national communications programs for Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, both public and private. He’s successfully worked with journalists across the globe representing clients involved in major-breaking news stories, product launches, media tours, and company news announcements.
